Members - administration, and access levels

Workspace members determine who can see and manage the contents of a workspace. This feature will be enabled in a future release.

Membership

Membership controls for workspaces will grant access to:

  • workspace settings,
  • organizations inside the workspace,
  • additional members of the workspace
  • and workspace-level configuration such as hierarchy naming schemes.

Membership controls for organizations will grant access to:

  • organization settings,
  • additional members of the organization
  • and organization-level configuration such as app installation and the component hierarchy structure.

Access levels

The precise access levels shown by the product will evolve over time, but will be broadly along the lines of:

  • Users. Can view the repos, components and quality & compliance scores for organizations to which they are granted access.
  • Admins. In addition to User permissions, can change the configuration of organizations or workspaces for which they
  • are admins.
  • Owners. In addition to Admin permissions can administer the membership of organizations or workspaces that they own.

When deciding who should have elevated access, prefer the smallest set of administrators and owners needed to keep your workspaces and organizations healthy.
