Workspaces

A workspace is the top-level organizational boundary inside the Silverfish IDP.

A workspace serves three main purposes:

1. It groups related organizations.
2. It provides shared hierarchy naming scheme configuration.
3. For paid plans, it acts as a billing boundary, allowing separate billing details to be applied to individual workspaces.

Most users will only need one workspace, especially when all of their organizations belong to the same department. Multiple workspaces will become useful when different parts of a company need independent configuration, access, or billing.

What can you do in a workspace?

From the workspace page you can:

• rename the workspace,
• review the organisations inside it,
• manage hierarchy naming schemes,
• and view other workspace-level settings as they become available.

When should I create another workspace?

For now, you can't this feature will be added at a later date.

When the feature is enabled, consider another workspace when:

• teams need separate administration,
• different parts of the business need different hierarchy conventions,
• or billing and license management should be kept separate.
