Roadmap

The Silverfish IDP and its Dashboard are evolving from a repo and component discovery portal into a broader engineering management and insight platform.

Current focus areas

Planned short-term improvements include:

• support for component discovery for more languages. The likely order that support will be added is:

• fully implemented hierarchy support
• better component map visualizations
• membership support for workspaces and organizations

Planned platform direction

The medium-term direction includes capabilities such as:

• quality and compliance rule definition,
• reporting and charting,
• release tracking,
• richer hierarchy and component insight,
• support for other free repo hosting services, including Azure Devops, Bitbucket and Codeberg.

Longer term, capabilities will include:

• paid-plan features for private repos,
• support for paid-for repo services like GitLab and Stackhero,
• metrics (including some Dora metrics) and advanced reporting and charting.
